Financial help for W Sumatra quake victims Rp15.79 Billion

Padang (ANTARA News) - The financial assistance for the West Sumatra earthquake up to Monday afternoon amounted to Rp15,791,514,000.

West Sumatra provincial administration secretary Firdaus K said in Padang Monday help for the quake victims continued to come in, and the biggest which had been received included that from Abrizal Bakri (Golkar) Rp6.9 billion, and from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono Rp5 billion.

In the meantime, PT BPD had donated Rp750 million, East Kutai Regent Rp650 million, NAD province Rp500 million, Riau Governor Rp500 million, and West Sumatra Governor Rp400 million.

"In addition, many other provinces had also given their assistance," Firdaus said, for which he had expressed the highest appreciation.

Meanwhile on Monday, a Rp 200 million and been received from the Jambi Governor, and Rp 25 million of a Sulit Air Sepakat organization.

When asked about any foreign financial assistance, he said none had so far been received.

"Foreign financial help may have been given by way of the central government," Firdaus said.(*)
