Indonesian stocks close 36.550 percent higher

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) at the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) here, Wednesday noon, closed 36.550 points or 1.29 percent higher to the level of 2,866.723 points.

While, the LQ 45 index rose 7.883 points or 1.43 percent to the level of 555.375.
Positive movement of the global bourses bolstered the BEI index, according to Ahmad Riyadi, 
a research analyst of Millenium Danatam Securities.

The blue chip surge has caused the BEI index to gain, plus the positive movement of the global bourses," he said.

On regional bourses, Japan`s Nikkei-225 index rose 202.54 points to the level of 10,090.43, and Singapore`s Straits Times index surged 33.24 points to the level of 2,851,45 points.

The BEI morning transactions involved 2.505 billion shares worth Rp1.910 billion. Some 142 stocks gained, 40 lost and 60 others remained static.

Earlier in the opening trading session, the IHSG opened higher as investors hunted blue-chip shares.

The BEI index rose 44.538 points or 1.57 percent to 2,874.438 points and the LQ-45 index went up 9,650 points or 1.76 percent to 557.142 points.

Following gains on Wall street, investors actively bought blue cheap as well as small-cap shares, according to Alfiansyah, a foreign exchange analyst of PT Sinarmas Securities.(*)
