OPENING REMARKS
PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA
ON
THE BALI DEMOCRACY FORUM LUNCHEON
10 DECEMBER 2008

Your Majesty,
Excellencies,
Distinguished Delegates and Friends,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

After the hard days work, I know that you are more tempted by the food in front of you while hearing another speech. That is why I will make my remark very brief.

I just wish to thank all you for coming to Indonesia to take a part in this 1st Bali Democracy Forum which I hope this is the start of a history process. Many of you come from the far corner of Asia. We appreciate the time, effort, and contribution that you are making to this Forum. And judging from our discussion today, I am sure you will agree with me that our effort have been worldwide.

I would like to wish everybody success throughout the remaining discussion and deliberations and bid goodbye and have a safe journey back home. This Forum could not have been successful without the collaboration of hardworking individual from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Indonesia, the Delegates, Participants and those who, one way or another contributed in producing this momentous, vocal, and productive event.

To all of you, I owe you my earnest gratitude and high regard. To all of our Guests, I hope you will find the time to return to Indonesia, to Bali, and other part. Bali is a kind of place to visit again and again and again. You will always be welcomed here. Once again, enjoy the lunch and thank you for joining us today.

Thank you.
